This Thanksgiving was a doubleheader with two vibrant events: cheering on the Canberra Cavalry at ‘The Fort’ in MIT Narrabundah Ballpark and savoring a hearty feast at King O’Malleys. The Ballpark gathering united American players, devoted fans and a supportive community to celebrate the enduring U.S.-Australia connection through the lens of baseball. Attendees not only cheered on the 2023/24 Australian Baseball League season during the first home stand but also carried their spirit forward to USA Day in a mid-December rematch. For those yearning for a good ol’ taste of Americana, King O’Malleys presented a delightful feast providing a warm setting for friends to gather.
