Last month we bid our final farewell to Derek Holyoake, the last surviving Canberran of the Battle of the Coral Sea and one of the last surviving Rats of Tobruk at a Commemorative Dinner.
A commemorative service was also held at the Australian-American Memorial earlier in the day to mark the 81st Anniversary of the battle. We were joined by some of Derek’s friends and family who shared stories about his incredible life.
