From the cherry‑red Chevelle parked proudly at the entrance, to the towering 8‑metre‑high cowboy boot, guests were greeted with classic Americana from the moment they arrived. Elvis stole the show, Zero Alpha kept the hits coming, and the smell of low & slow BBQ, hot dogs and Southern‑inspired cocktails filled the air. With American beer passports in hand and a sea of red, white and blue around us, the atmosphere was nothing short of electric.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate the 250th birthday of the USA with us. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, welcome new ones, and spend the day celebrating the enduring friendship between Australia and the United States.
A special thank you to our wonderful partners at Mercure Canberra, the team at Olims Bar & Bistro, our friends at the Canberra Services Club, and Zero Alpha for keeping the dance floor alive with an incredible night of classic rock and roll.
From our very own U.S Embassy in Canberra to some of Australia’s most iconic landmarks, it was wonderful to see so much red, white and blue across the nation in honour of 250 years of U.S. Independence. This nationwide lighting campaign underscores the strength and longevity of the U.S.–Australia relationship, and we are grateful to our Australian friends and partners for marking this milestone with us.
